Feel it! They are here!

It’s been about three weeks since I last put something up, and that was our newsletter. I will tell you why I have been silent, three letters say it all C-C-P. Every winter our team receives a young bunch of University students from various Campus Outreach groups in the states. They are called the CCP(Cross

Go Bafana Bafana!

Some cools shots of Bafana Bafana Day here in RSA this past Wednesday. The streets were packed at lunch time with loads of people supporting the home town team. Hoping these boys do well and beat Mexico. Vuvuzelas are blowing 24/7 here these days. Think it will be this way for the entire duration of

15 days and counting…

We are down to 15 days left before the World Cup starts in South Africa. The country is ready in spirit but are they ready in practicality? This has been a big question to the world for a while now and South Africans are always bringing it up in conversation and in media. The roads

2 and a half years later

Hey friends. Today was  a big day for us. Today we finally got our marriage certificate from Home Affairs. This process took us about two and a half years. The first year we thought our minister had filed for us and when I went to get the certificate so I could change my passport I

My favorite thing about winter in South Africa is that there are hardly ever any clouds in the sky. I hate cloudy, cold, rainy winter days where every thing is so dreary. Not here. Here though the early morning may have a mist or clouds in the sky, most days by 8 or so they

The tremor that shook Joburg

Last night all across the eastern, middle, and western part of Johannesburg we felt a trembling. We weren’t sure what it was at first, thought maybe some big building fell or something. This morning we found out it was indeed a very small tremor,3.1 on the richter scale. Crazy stuff people. Biggest one I’ve felt

Shout it out South Africa

Some local artists in SA are speaking out against acts of violence committed every day here. They put together this video and remixed the 80s song “Shout, shout, let it all out.” It’s nice to see citizens taking a stand and calling the country to take a stand too against violence. Greatly encouraged by this.

A big challenge

This morning I sat down to listen to a sermon by pastor John Piper. I knew that listening to something from him would be full of conviction and deeply stirring to my soul. I was expecting something from the book of Acts, as we are studying that book now. What I got was a very

Letters from who?

We(Jeff and Kris Viljoen) live in Johannesburg, South Africa and work with college/university students at the University of Johannesburg-Kingsway campus. We work with a group called Campus Outreach and love pouring into the lives of the next generation in South Africa. Kris is an American and Jeff is a South African so we've got quite a nice combo of life and experiences. We designed this website to share with friends about what God is doing in us and through us in our personal lives and on the campus in South Africa
